Oregon Wild- Mount June and Sawtooth Ridge Hike

Post by Oregon Wild » June 25th, 2014, 1:36 pm

Join us tomorrow, June 26, to take in the views and spectacular wildflowers from forested Mount June and ridgetop meadows as you explore Eugene’s backyard wilderness.

Difficulty: Moderate
Distance: 5 miles
Elevation Gain: 1,000 feet
Leader: Chandra LeGue
Location: Willamette National Forest, SE of Eugene

Explore the wilderness in Eugene’s backyard! The Hardesty Mountain roadless area is the largest to be found within an hour of Eugene. The hike to Mount June winds through a diverse native forest and rocky outcrops filled with wildflowers to a lovely view.

Riding the divide between the Middle and Coast Forks of the Willamette River, the ridge connecting Mount June to Hardesty Mountain is a wonderful place to enjoy rocky meadows surrounding Sawtooth Rock. This hike will explore them both!

Help Oregon Wild continue to provide high-quality, guided hikes into Oregon's spectacular wildlands by making a small donation.
