I planning a week-long backpacking trip in the southern Wallowas for either the last week of July or the first week of August, and hope to find a few hiking enthusiasts to join me.
The intended route is the Southern Wallowas Traverse, as detailed in Doug Lorain's Backpacking Oregon. The description can be found at Google Books (link to long to list here), or via the link on the homepage... or you can ask me for more info. The area also lends itself to shorter trips, so that's always an option/alternative (see Fred Barstad and/or Bill Sullivan's books).
I'd describe myself as an "average" backpacker/hiker (if there is such as thing), with a few trips in other parts of the Eagle Cap Wilderness/Wallowas under my belt. Drop me a note if interested!
