I'm leaving Oregon soon sadly but I'll be back next summer! Just posted my first trip report and figured I'd introduce myself while I was at it. My trail name is Shortwave after my favourite luxury item, a shortwave radio that has helped me avoid storms several times with the NOAA WX bands it gets!
My trail namesake: I moved to Portland from the East Coast for university and started hiking and backpacking seriously last fall.
My favourite areas so far have been:
The Wallowas - I went over my fall break and they were absolutely stunning! Three Sisters Wilderness - was there this last weekend and loved it. Lots of amazing lakes!
The Columbia River Gorge - I've done a ton of day hikes here and always enjoy it I'm planning on thru-hiking the PCT after I graduate, and while I'm leaving now I'm hoping to do a lot more exploring when I get back! I'd love to summit Mt St Helen's one day, as well as spend some more time in the Wallowas.
