OregonHikers Newbie here!
Hello from Hood River, OR. I've lived in OR for ~11 years now, and have been hiking in some form for most of my life. The majority of my experience is hiking/backpacking in CA: San Jacinto mountain, San Bernardino mountains, and Eastern Sierras: John Muir Trail, and Mt Whitney (summited twice so far!). And lots of day-hikes. I look forward to hiking into backcountry lakes for trout fishing! Oh, and I also love 4x4 off-road adventure travel (Im a "Jeep Guy"), and am a volunteer with PNWSAR.

Re: Howdy!
welcome
I used to live down there. Did a lot of hiking in San Gabriel Mountains. A little bit on Mt Jacinto.
It's amazing to me how wild that is, how it's possible to find solitude, so close to 10 million+ people.
One thing I don't miss is the poison tipped yucca plants
