Fall Creek / Armstrong Creek Falls
Well, it’s beyond time to see what my favorite part of the Mt Hood NF is looking like. I went to Fall Creek 7 years ago and can report that not much has changed. I will say the “trail” is in much better shape. We parked at the NF Clack gate and walked the old road grade back. There is a point where it get wild but you can avoid the cliffy situation by going up and over to a more gentle downclimb. Fall creek falls was roaring. We crossed the creek and went up the right side to see the upper falls. It was stunning as ever. We went back the way we came and saw a couple of people going back. We then headed up the Clackamas to the camp that Armstrong creek dumps next to. We hiked up the burnt ridge that’s loaded with thorns and made it over to the falls. I’d argue the falls itself is more photogenic than it was before.

Is that a technical canyoneering dress??? Just kidding.
You sure do get into some interesting places.

Believe it or not, I barely ever ride a mountain bike.

Haha. That’s Melinda. Her and Tim are some off trail legends. Not all of my trips involves the canyoneering gear. This trip was mostly hiking and getting up on my feet after recently getting hit by a car while riding my bike in downtown Portland.
