Woke up today and set my sites on Lindsay and summit creek in the gorge. I parked at the pulloff near Shellrock. I walked up the old road that intersects the multi-use paved path that has become the old highway. I first went left to see Lindsay. Since 2020, I haven’t been back. At that time I ran the canyon with ropes. At this point I hiked to the last fall and have seen more landslides in the lower area than before. I don’t recall needing to cross the creek before but I did today. No big deal but for some it could be. The falls were great and what I needed. I then pack up and headed back to the powerline road. I took it up to Summit Creek where the BP folks have placed a bridge for maintaining their power lines. I walked up the creek to Summit Creek Falls. This is a gorge favorite of mine. I have always been curious about what’s above so I went up the closest East side gulley. Pretty steep and loose. I went up and over and proceeded to the upper section. Great time. I was going to head home but got excited to see Camp Benson Falls with some ice. I’ve been multiple times in the past. I was surprised to see a psuedo sacrificial set up on a stump of a broken concrete body. It was a bit strange. I then looked down to see a fresh cougar kill. Had a great time over all. Didn’t see a soul. 😄
