Cape Horn

Post by Nwcanyoning » January 22nd, 2023, 4:25 am

Cape Horn has always been there to say “look at me.” Well after a couple of year trying to get the best weather window and conditions… we finally were able to see the place like few have. We started at the top and finished at the Columbia. The last drop was very exciting. We then exited via the beach (brought packrafts just in case and only used them because we wanted to). Anywho, enjoy.

That is cool. It looks like one of you has a go-pro on your helmet? It would be fun to see that video.

I didn’t love my footage as it was slightly zoomed in more than I thought it was. In any regard, here’s the video. I have a few other videos on there as well from a laces in Skamania, Lewis, Yakima, and klickitat Counties.

Enjoy. https://youtu.be/agqk94tZb84

Nice. My grandparents' and uncle's ashes (my dad's parents and oldest brother) are scattered at Cape Horn, off the viewpoint. Memorial days, when I can, I try to get out there and toss three roses over the side and stand there looking on for a few minutes. In another 20-30 years or so it'll be up to six as my parents and dad's other brother all kick off.

God, this thread turned morbid fast....
