Upper & Middle Bridal Veil Falls.

So Friday afternoon Eric & I headed out to find Upper & Middle Bridal Veil Falls. We tackled the Upper Falls first & using the info we had learned here we stopped in the first turnout on the west side of Palmer Mill Road after crossing a small creek. This is about a mile from the Old Columbia Gorge Highway.
From here we followed a fairly well defined trail into the trees but it soon petered out so we just headed West towards the sound of the water. In a very short time we could see the top of the Falls but the descent looked quite steep so we headed first north & then South in one big switchback descending to the Creek Level.
First View of the Falls.
We reached creek level a bit to soon and so headed back up to the Falls along the side of the creek.
Nevertheless we made it!
After some fancy footwork we decided it was time to leave.
The climb out was much easier than the descent, & we followed a much more direct route up the side of the canyon.
once back on Palmer Mill Road we drove down to the highway again parked at a turnout next to the Bridal Viel Bridge & headed upstream on the Westside of the creek. At first the going was very easy but that soon changed!
Still, after a few more nicks & cuts we arrived
On our return trip we left the creek just before the side stream than runs in from the West & followed a game trail up the hill. This intersected with what seemed to be a old real trail paralleling the creek but at a higher level. Either way it was a lot easier going!
Oh, wait a minute I forgot the Weeping Wall Thought this was really cool so I better share a photo of it :^)
After Following the Upper Trail for some time we came across this
Nature was doing her best to reclaim her. There were several glass bottles around the the area of the house, these resisted natures advances so she just made use of them!
We left the house heading North through the trees & soon hit an old abandoned road that we then followed back to the Highway, it put us back on the highway almost exactly opposite the entrance to Lower bridal Veil Falls Park.
All in all a great afternoon was had by all :^)
