@Zach....Thanks, your TR was helpful planning seeing Benson. Upper Loowit Falls was an unplanned extra for the day. :)

@ aywolfpac and Leslie...Thank you for the compliments. I'm glad I could share. :)

This is beautiful!

I may be out at Eagle on saturday. About how far (distance a/o time) was the upper falls from the top of Loowit? I can't tell from my maps (yes, I'm a paper-map fan too :-) ) how much time I'd need to budget if I decide to go visit.

Thanks again. And thanks for the poison oak warning - I am super allergic and get it all the time - I'll bring my Technu if I decide to venture off the path.

Regards,
payslee

@Payslee...Upper Loowit Falls is maybe 1/3 of a mile upstream but being no trail...it is slow going. Slick logs, a steep embankment and crossing the creek are obstacles you will have to overcome. If you head up that canyon do it early in the day to make sure you have plenty of time to get back out.

As for the poison oak, no leaves right now so just plan on washing up if you go off trail. Just to be safe! ;)
