Wow, awesome trip and interesting findings with the skeletons and the old trail blazes. I'm glad the clouds cleared and the views opened up for you guys for a bit.

Very cool Brian, the old trail and the skeletons were a pretty neat find. You had a really nice view at Blister Creek Falls....I'm going to have to get a few pictures from that angle next time I'm up that way. It's nice to see that you got some time to get outside.

Nice find on the old trail. Clear cutting was death of many such pathways and so it goes . . .
I'd wager that skeleton was a dog. A couple of times I've come across the remains of pets that have been disposed of in the woods. Also, I've come across the remains of elk carcasses before. In some cases, I'm guessing they were poached out of season and butchered on the spot.

I'm thinking on every one of these lines...

Cool, Brian -- and nice shot of Blister Creek Falls, too! For a falls that can be seen from the road, you don't often see close views like this.

That's because the skeletons are fresh and haven't had the time to develop the green staining yet.raven wrote:I'm surprised at the lack of apparent gnawing by rodents and porcupines. And the bleaching of the skeletons seems to be signs of a drier climate -- I'd expect more green and staining around here (the wet side of the hills).
