It probably is late. Just a couple weeks ago almost the entire park was still under a blanket of snow. I'd guess mid-September if there will be much of a flower show at all this year.

Did you see dried blossoms? I was hoping that the bloom would be late this year because of the snow. These pics were taken August 19th a couple of years back:
