Re: Falls Creek Falls Hike 032419
Well, that's disappointing about the walk in on the road. I'd gotten the impression from this post that there was a track compacted enough to walk in on without all the postholing.

Re: 2019 Snow Level
Thank you, I've been wondering about exactly thisgreenjello85 wrote: ↑March 25th, 2019, 7:37 pmI was surprised to find quite a bit of snow on Salmon River road as well. It's clear to the old trail parking area but is deep to the main trailhead with a single set of ruts. Around 1' with some deeper drifts but compact.

Re: Spring breakers in the gorge
Meh, it's not even funny stupid, just stupid. Car pulled out of a space, next car in line pulled in. Except the car behind that car decided it was actually their space for some reason. So the driver of the offended car pulled behind the freshly parked car, laid on the horn, and did. not. let. go. Me...

Spring breakers in the gorge
So many spring breakers. If you're trying to get anywhere near Multnomah Falls or the waterfall corridor generally this week, do yourself a favor and keep to the Interstate side, or at least don't plan on going east of Wahkeena on the old highway. When I was leaving today around noon traffic was bac...

Re: Devil's Rest: Fog, Snow and Charcoal
I checked out the shortcut over to Multnomah Basin Road when I want past, and it was pristine. I headed up towards Devil's Rest today, but I was moving kind of slowly. When I hit the cutoff to the Basin Rd I made a last-minute call that doing the big loop down to Larch via the Basin Rd would be a b...

Thanks, loving the reports. Now we just need a Devil's Rest to complete the set.

Re: More Wahkeena - Multnomah Loop - 11-25-2018
The parking at Wahkeena was fully open with quite a few spots remaining When I got there at 8:45 Wahkeena parking was maybe half full. By 9 or so it was full. By noon when I left there were cars parked all over the road, not all legally. Still, nothing like Angel's Rest. I also wound up doing the l...

Re: Mutnomah-Wahkeena loop - Nov 24, 2018
Thanks for first pics! Wow, that "trail"... I wasn't expecting it to be so overgrown, but then I remember the initial assessment a year ago said that bit was still in quite good condition, so I guess it hasn't been touched much. That's some bridge. Raised in anticipation of debris coming through as ...
