Re: Shark Rock

Great to see an adventure involving some scrambling and especially some technicality! Must be another significant step in completing the goals for your book!? Is Kirk Rock still waiting for you? Good work taking the effort to get up there. I like that two old timers have the first recorded ascent fo...

Re: Lake Lenore (Bull of the Woods) 8-16-17

Nice to see a report here. Seems you've been getting to the area lately since you visited the Geronimo Trail the week prior. Haven't been to the area since 2013 when I ascended Schreiner Peak from the north starting at the confluence of Dickey Creek and the Collowash. I walked through the Welcome La...

D.B. Cooper's grave, of course...unless it's actually a sasquatch teleportation site.

Re: Indian Heaven melt-out progress 6.24-25.17

Great report and photos, as always, Roman. Good to get an update on IH and liked your loop. That hunter's memorial is quite interesting! The accompanying story of getting knocked down by a bear was wild! There's a LOT of water coming out of there right now. Glad you tested those snow bridges because...

Re: Devils Rest from Wahkeena Spring

Good you didn't go down "Pablo's Gully" this time of year, unless you like a triumvirate of steep wetness, loose soil, and chest-high spring growth to obscure your every footstep. However, you would have avoided some of your flip-flopper rants had you survived the descent to your vehicle!

Well...when we see a black-garbed disembodied nose emerge from the woods, we'll know it's you!

Re: Trail maintenance needed on Two Chiefs Trail (5/10/17)

That area, like much of the Gorge, was hit hard by the snowy winter. The Two Chiefs Trail in particular sees no official maintenance and relies on the charity of its users to get cleared. It doesn't have the benefit of organized PCT trail maintenance nor the use. Excluding the PCT, there is a genera...

Re: Why is Multnomah Basin so spooky?

I don't find the Multnomah Plateau spooky at all but the Bridal Veil Plateau now that's a whole different story.................. I wont hike this on my own anymore, Fine in a group but on my own I can't shake the feeling that I'm being followed. Agreed. Unlike Bridalveil, Multnomah Basin never had...

Re: Vision Quest Pits off Wyeth, Apr 15, 2017

Another enjoyable Pablo-escapade replete with great photos. Sounds like the preferred way to access the vision quest pits would be via the south ridge above Shellrock? Still have yet to make it there myself, but it should happen someday. I like the looks of Dog from this vantage point, poor bastards...
