Re: Autumn in Yosemite: NoYo YOLO Yoyo
Thanks so much everyone! I don't post here as much as I used to (or as much as I'd like), and I really appreciate folks reading my prattling all the same. I have long had the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne on my bucket list. But reading that much of it has now burned - especially if it includes the Pa...

Re: Autumn in Yosemite: NoYo YOLO Yoyo
So if that was 2 years ago, will we be seeing more blasts from the past from you? :) Thank you! I don't know how useful these old reports actually are for folks, but I do enjoy writing them, and will probably post more, so long as folks tolerate it. I guess my hope is to one day actually catch up, ...

Autumn in Yosemite: NoYo YOLO Yoyo
RodgersLake.jpg Opening Picture: Rodgers Lake, Yosemite National Park October 2-9, 2021 1. It’s early spring, 2021, and we’re sitting next to the Sandy River outside of Troutdale, eating a late lunch. Out of nowhere—it’s always out of nowhere—Krista asks me if I want to go to Yosemite this summer. ...

Such a fantastic trip, and a TR to match! I always really admire your reports: for whatever reason, I find myself writing fewer and fewer these days, and I deeply appreciate your willingness to put in the work to get these together, especially for areas like this.

Wonderful trip report, thank you! I've been thinking about joining the crowds in late September this year to follow in your footsteps.

Re: Trail Friends Of Herman Creek
So great to see a TR from you! I'm also still using your Gorge mapset on my ancient Garmin (though, frankly, it's Gaia more often these days).

Fantastic! Thanks so much for the report. I've never done the express route in snow - guess I need to.

Re: Across the Alpine Lakes, Again: Snoqualmie Pass to Icicle Creek
I guess I'm of kind of internally inconsistent on this subject: 1. I actually have hiked Angel's Rest a lot over the last 4 years or so because I have sometimes been lonely, and having other people around enlivens the hike. 2. I never fail to brag about knowing out-of-the-way places (to my friends ...

Re: South Sister Summit in October
Great site! Just a quick note that your "South Sister summit and Teardrop Pool" is actually Lewis Lake (the lake at the terminus of the Lewis Glacier), maybe 1000' below the summit.

Re: Across the Alpine Lakes, Again: Snoqualmie Pass to Icicle Creek
Thanks so much for reading everyone! It means a lot. I particularly like your empathy with those who enjoy, in their own way, the crowded places like Snow Lake. How else can we preserve wild (or even semi-wild) places if we don't get more people hooked on hiking, even if it means overcrowding the mo...
