Re: Timberline Trail in Mid August

there's a lot of snow melt and thus high stream flow right now

by mid August stream flow should be low. There are still some stream crossings a little difficult.

the only closed section is between Muddy Fork and Yocum Ridge, but there's a good detour using the PCT and signs directing you.

Re: Eliot Branch crossing conditions in July 2021?

regarding getting to the Coe glacier, I've gone up the Elk Cove valley from the TT. Then, there are steep ridges of glacier moraine running up and down. It seemed difficult to get down to Coe. But I wasn't real motivated, just exploring around, not really all that focused on getting to Coe

Re: Eliot Branch crossing conditions in July 2021?

How do you get from the Timberline Trail at Elk Cove to the terminus of the Coe glacier, and back to TT on the other side?

Re: Silver Star Mt Backpack

Nobody answered the question about water at the summit There is supposed to be a spring about 800 feet west of the summit Take the summit trail down to the Silver Star trail Go about 500 feet south to the Sturgeon Rock Trail Go about 100 feet on the Sturgeon Rock Trail, then turn right on the unname...

Re: Eliot Branch crossing conditions?

I assume you're talking about the new, lower crossing

It's better than the old, upper crossing(s) but still difficult
