Re: Horsetail Falls and lower Oneonta Falls

IIRC, it's no more than maybe 1/3 of a mile on the road to close the loop and you can walk through the Oneonta tunnel for part of it, which the kids should enjoy. We usually get that part out of the way depending on when we are hiking. If it's early morning, we do it first. If it's late afternoon, w...

Robin, my employer does NOT appreciate you taking me away from my work for a rapt 30 minutes of reading and dreaming but I appreciated it greatly :D. Thanks for a wonderful TR. I enjoyed all of it.

Placid Lake in IHW is skeeter-free but Chenamus was not. 85 bug bites between me and my partner on Friday night.

Left our poles at Placid Lake (or possibly the Trailhead) :(

Hey, if anyone found a pair of Costco trekking poles at Placid Lake on Saturday, or possibly at the trailhead, I would love to get them from you. Re: how do we embed a dynamic caltopo

Yes, I have been unable to figure this out as well, Miah, that's a good workaround but maybe Martell could do some code wizardry to make CalTopo dynamic as well? I know many folks use it, as opposed to HillMap.

We closed the trail (not the meadow) to use because of the damage that trail has and will continue to have on the environment in that area if use continues. The 1964 Wilderness Act states that “...each agency adminis...
