Re: Gorge eagle creek-PCT loop

We did a nice, ~14 mile loop last weekend up the Oneonta Trail to Franklin Ridge, then down the Larch Mountain trail . Route finding was easy and the trail clear all the way through, which is apparently still the case . The loop could easily be extended by taking a left at the Franklin Ridge junctio...

Re: looking for short/easy hikes, Eugene and Corvallis

Another vote for the Spencer's Butte / Ridge Line trail system in Eugene. Here's a map (PDF). I like to start at the 52nd and Willamette Trailhead and make my way up to the Butte, though all the trails in that area are pretty nice.

The tree right next to it was bald, so I sort of thought that this might be the bark from it, but of course I could be wrong too.

Oneonta - Franklin - Multnomah Loop, 03-08-14

Headed out for a soggy loop in the gorge this past Saturday, from the Oneonta Trailhead up the Oneonta Trail to Franklin Ridge, down the Larch Mountain trail toward Multnomah Falls, then back to the car on Trail 400. Our route highlighted on the Forest Service topo map. http://farm3.staticflickr.com...

Re: Silverfalls Sate Park 2-25

Thanks for the great TR! And lucky to go at such an uncrowded time. I went last midweek last May in the pouring rain, and we still ran into maybe two dozen people  Maybe I'll have to try again now.

Thanks for all the corrections, Sean! It'll probably take me a few more trips to get it all straight, though I certainly don't mind practicing. :)

It's true, those are fantastic! I'm going to start wearing them with shorts just to be fashionable :)

Wow! I'm not sure I could do that in the best of times. Nice TR!
