Free Night In Banff/Lake Louise Area

Hey Hikers! I overbooked a night in Banff and received a credit for our cabin for one night. If anyone is going to be there this fall, you're welcome to it. It was a great little cabin for one-two people and an awesome lodge/restaurant on premise. Let me know if you want it and I will contact the ma...

Re: McNeil Point-5.29.16

Went up today, fist time following the surprisingly quick scramble route. The route is totally snow free now. I had planned on driving out to Earl Peak in the Teanaway, but lost my driving nerve at about 1 am so I settled on this. I have to say, this route reinvigorated by interest in Hood. I tend t...

Long Shot -- Banff in Late August?

Hey hikers! Anyone want to join a duo for some intermediate alpine hikes in Banff the last week of August? I know it's a long shot, but if you're heading up there and want safety in numbers, let me know. :D

Re: Summerland, Mt Rainier NP, 7/8/15: Late August in early

Adam and I had very different experiences on the same day. This is one of the most amazing hikes I've ever been on and the forest only took 1.5 hours. I would hate for anyone to be disuaded from doing this hike - it's magical! Rainier is like hiker Disney - every part is beautiful in its own way. Pa...

This trip report is spectacular, as always. I'm always so impressed with your hikes. I recognize Sallie Keys and Selden Pass, but the rest is all new. Thumbs up.

Re: High Sierras - Italy Pass to Pine Creek Pass - 7/1-4/15

How do you think Eagle Cap compares to the Sierra's? I have the option of either 10 days in Eagle Cap or 6 in the Sierras ( West side TH as I'll be coming from SF ). Cheers, Ian I've spent some time in both. Eagle Cap might draw some comparisons to the Sierras, but it has a flavor all it's own. Bot...

Re: The Enchantments

I will keep a close eye on this in case I can tag along, but will have to drive separately as I only ever have 2 days off now and those are Thursday and Friday. I'm guessing all you guys are Sat/Sun types. Smart to do it before the fires - all my photos from last year have a yellowish tinge, lol!

Re: Need 1 night backpacking recommendation - Oct 13 - Big V

I second what BigBear said. If you don't mind upping your travel time to a three-hour drive, there's nothing better than a one-night backpack at Snowgrass Flats with an Old Snowy summit in the a.m. That being said, check the weather and the trip reports because it could get nasty. Camping near South...
