Re: selling off federal lands: new House rules make it easie

I understand many want the popular vote to determine the Presidency. The problems with the National Popular Vote have become evident with this past election. Many voters feel they will be disenfranchised by states with larger populations. They will bring up ridiculous conclusions that illegal voters...

Re: selling off federal lands: new House rules make it easie

yeah, doing away with the electoral college is a good thing, but it's only a small step in the right direction "two candidates that almost no one I have talked to liked" I liked Hillary. The issues she favored were pretty good. She wasn't a very good campaigner though - unable to get people over th...

Re: selling off federal lands: new House rules make it easie

I have to agree with a lot of what has been stated. I hope the Republican congress keeps being obsessed with the ACA. If they repeal it, they own the mess and the millions of newly uninsured that voted for them. Other wise maybe they will be smart enough to fix the problems, not. Those insurance com...

Re: Working full-time and finding the time for hiking/bp'ing

it's weird how locals like Americans (or at least are friendly) even if they don't like our government, like Iran for example
I agree its not usually the locals in foreign countries that are the problem for Americans. The vast majority are curious and accommodating. It can be with governmen...

Re: Working full-time and finding the time for hiking/bp'ing

Well, currently my schedule sucks as far as hiking goes. I'm working 50-60 hour weeks and hiking has been minimal. I am approaching retirement in a 3 -4 years so hoping for more time, though I'm not sure where that will be. My wife is from South America so I really would like to see more of the Ande...

That is terrible

What is wrong with people??? :( :( This is what is wrong in several categories. People said they saw suspicious person in Lexus white sedan and was confident it was this person that was the Grinch. :x Not that it would be any better if they had an old bea...

Re: Interior Secretary

I can't say I am trilled about ANY of the Cabinet choices. It's a pro-business environment in the new presidency that doesn't care about workers or consumers. They want to rollback all of the regulations and just make unlimited money. Perhaps we should start a pool: which Cabinet head will be indic...

Re: New Year's Eve: anyone planning to spend the night outsi

I had to laugh about this one. I did once upon a time camp out in Eagle Creek with a couple friends on New Years. One was a guy I worked with and the other a woman who was visiting me. So we are back in there some ways though I can't recall where. I mean this was like 1980? It was snowing heavy and ...

Well that was abrupt...I was hoping for more pics and narrative in this fascinating story! I had the fortune to camp out there along Twisp Road at Poplar Flat a few years back . Head to this link to see what lurks up the other fork of your trail!

Thanks for the report, h...
