Re: Exploratory Mining near MSH approved

Actually the Columbian article is misleading too. They are just drilling holes at this point. Not mining. I see in the article where they are looking for ' copper, gold and molybdenum '. I didn't even know what molybdenum was but I guess it's used in certain steel making processes and can be extract...

Re: Table Mt: another fun failure looking for east cliff edg

So who maintains the trails in the Table Mt area? There is new signage now (doesn't look like standard FS signage) and freshly cut trees. Reason I ask it that all that hard work clearing the trees from some of those old roads that are now used as trails has opened them up to atv's and dirt bikes. I ...

Strangely, my personal inertia leads me to less impressive endeavors. ;)

Re: Happy Birthday!

Happy Graduation day from the Aldrich Butte trail. You guy's need to step up your game. I am dragging these things out three at a time . IMG_0567b.jpg Mylar is made from 'metalicized polyester' which is basically a nylon. From what I can find nylon takes 30-40 years to degrade. Having a metal ...

Re: Bennett Pass - Route Options?

If you can get a hold of an old Klindt Vielbig x-country ski book he has that route in there. Klindt skied most everywhere there was snow and created a lot of those routes. The part you marked in pink is a dotted line on Klindt's map which he defines a off road/off trail and gets you back up to Gun ...

I hit the trifecta yesterday below Table Mountain. Three of them scattered along my path.

Really well done. Wish I had the patience to do video editing like you do. Must have been a few hours of video you had to edit through to get that five minutes. Lots of elk. Wonder where all the hunters were.

Re: burnt lake trail report 10/21

I passed through there on Wednesday (10/25) on my way up to East Zigzag Mt. and it looked like someone had come through and vacuumed the trail. Five feet wide and no debris on the trail. Now I know why. At least all the water had disappeared.

Re: Dwarf Lakes (Sky Lakes Wilderness) 27-Oct-2017

Neat report. It's been ages since I was down at Sky Lakes Wilderness. In fact I think the only time I was down there was to do a two night trip out of Cold Springs. If you hadn't labeled your photos one would think you were in the Indian Heaven Wilderness. Much the same type of terrain. Interesting ...
