Excellent report. I've got relatives in Estacada (I actually grew up there) so I've been pretty curious about these falls for a long time. Next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to check it out.

Necktie Falls. Had some freetime today during lunch and looked back at the pictures I posted. Staring at IMG_1888 I posted it came to me.... the thing looks like a necktie! there is is folks... "Necktie Falls". Maybe I'll get lucky and make it in a history book as the discoverer of Necktie Falls......

I can't add a whole lot to this but I've got a little bit of info. A friend of mine wrote a fiction book called "Honest John Churchfield" about an alcoholic, yet very production, detective who lives in the shadow of Sherlock Holmes in London. (Think Sherlock Holmes and Indiana Jones mixed together.)...

Looks like there's some sort of dam above the falls in that first one. The beavers must have built it. :D Nice find Tom. I love seeing those old photos.
