Re: the hole story

I find these types of holes a lot as well, often far away from most human activity. I think they are totally natural.

Some interesting links to help solve the puzzle...

Re: Starway Trail (Silver Star Mountain)

Great write up, thanks for the report.
Count me in as another who doesn't enjoy starway very much. That climb is kinda miserable. The ridge high points are great though.

Re: All-New for 2018! A snow level thread.

No snow to the top of Huckleberry Mt. in the Salmon-Huckleberry wilderness, via Boulder Ridge/Plaza trails. 4250 ft. Do you think McIntyre/Wildcat is also likely clear? Yep, you are good to go. Minor patches of snow on wildcat but not impactful at all. The plaza is pretty much all melted too.

I think logged out refers to trail maintenance. Yes, trail maintenance logged out, the good kind  Strangely though, the maintenance was being done by a guy on a dirt bike. Dirt bikes are not allowed on the surveyors ridge trail, no motorized vehicle. I questioned his riding on surveyors, a...

Anyone been on this recently and hit snow? @ 3780' it might be clear?
Yep, I hiked there yesterday. Its 100% snowfree, as is the entire surveyors ridge. Its logged out as of yesterday too.

Re: Devils Elbow Open This Summer?

Unless the FS repairs it, no, it's not currently passable. There are multiple rock slides which wiped it out in a few locations. This winter took its toll on that section of trail. I hiked from hummocks to Harry's on Saturday and used the bypass.

Re: Change in Forums appearance

So I made an update and by default, clicking the thread title takes you to the last unread post. If you've already read everything it will take you to the first post. It might be nice if it'd take you to the last post if you've already read the thread, so I'm looking into how to do that. This flow ...

Re: Change in Forums appearance

When I click on a previously read topic that has a new unread post, the page is not bringing me to that new post automatically. Rather it's always starting me at post 1. I am logged in. Can I fix this?? Couldn't find anything under settings. Thanks!!
