Bagby Trail to Silver King Lk Nov 2018

Beautiful forest with carpet moss through out most of the trail. Easy to follow but with several downed trees across the trail between the hot springs and the lake. GPS track is for one way only, accidently deleted the other half :( https://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/spatialArtifacts.do?event=view&id=3...

Coldwater Lake Nov 2018

Beautiful hike with lots of wildlife. Started at Coldwater lake on trail 211 and went clockwise around the lake. Once on the other side of the lake and up the steep ridge, I turned left onto the Coldwater Tr 230 in efforts to link up with the Boundary Tr and camp at Margaret Camp. Around 4600 ft in ...

Re: Herman CK to Cedar Swamp Oct 2018

I'll be doing a trip there in the next couple months when the snows cut off higher elevations. That should be interesting. Thanks for the report and pics. The first 4.5 miles are all in the burn zone and then its like someone drew a line in the forest and the moss and greenery suddenly reappear. Go...

Re: Trapper Creek Loop/Observation Pt Sept 2018

Can you share you gps track and stats?

If you click on the link in the trip report it will take you to a gps track on a map. From there if you click on the green and black play button (at the trailhead) it will show you all the details that my gps recorded.

Trapper Creek Loop/Observation Pt Sept 2018

Trail is well marked but make sure you know which trail you want, there are a lot of trail junctions and cutoff trails. This route was fairly simple to remember, I stayed on the Trapper Creek trail (tr 192) all the way up to Observation Pt juncture, then took the spur trail (summit trail) to the vie...

Olallie Butte Sept 2018

One of the tougher gravel roads ive driven on for about 3 miles due to rocks and pot holes. However, doable in a Toyota sedan. There is a pull out to the right of the road facing the powerline towers marking the start of the trail located on the left side of the road. Be sure to take the trail to th...

Gnarl Ridge via Elk Meadows TH 8/8/18

Went up to Gnarl Ridge starting at the Elk Meadows TH. Conditions where hot with very little breeze. Trail is well marked and easy to follow. Dusty at times, no bugs to worry about except flies. The bridge to cross the Clark was closed due to maintenance. There is a log laying across the creek and j...

Re: Mount Mitchell July 2018

Kelly Wagner first sussed out this route about 4 years ago and I went up there and cleaned it up and hauled out a couple of trash bags of stuff left by bear grass poachers in '15 and '16. The trail is good for the entire way but one must pay attention in a few spots to keep on track. Yes Don, your ...

Re: Mount Mitchell July 2018

The drive wasn't too bad. Gravel road for several miles but not too many potholes. I would recommend being sure which on the directions to the trailhead before setting out, lots of other gravel roads and intersections along the way. I havent posted in a while here but if I figure out how to post pho...
