Been holding off on the loop but looks like it’s next for me.

Was there yesterday, did the same loop but up Elk and down Elk Creek. Been up Elk many times but this was the first that included Elk Creek. I visited Top Spur for the first time 3 weeks ago. That first glimpse of Hood around the bend is amazing. Did McNeil Point that day (missed the cutoff scramble to the hut somehow and ended up going the main route, but I'd go back to do it). Wnshall is right about it not being as overrun as S.Sister....

I did McNeil from Top Spur today.
No flies on the way up early. It was chilly.
Some on the way down but I used Picaridin and they weren't diggin' it.

Coldwater Peak from the South Trailhead.
14 miles. 3,500 feet EG.
Unbelievable scenery.
Still my favorite.

I asked because this "route" intrigues me. I never thought of trying to summit from anywhere but MR or WF.

Did you happen to record a gpx track of this?

I though I saw footprints on snow today.
Somewhere near Crescent Ridge I think.
They were too big to be goats.
