Re: An Icy Harphan Creek

Thank you!
Almost all of my hikes and waterfalls that I visit are in the Columbia Gorge from Latourell Falls to Hood River, with occasional trips to the Washington side. This falls here is near the Wyeth Campground. The trailhead for Gorton Creek Falls is also at that campground.

Re: Summit Creek Waterfalls

I don't know if it's because we wear gloves or if we're just lucky, but my dad and I have never encountered poison oak or its affects in the gorge, as far as we know.

An Icy Harphan Creek

Hello all! Drove up to check out Harphan Creek Falls on Harphan Creek. We took the Wyeth exit and turned right on Herman Creek Rd. Quickly there was a rough road with a gate and a sign across it on the left, just before Wyeth campground. We parked there. Following the road less than 1/4 mile we inte...

Summit Creek Waterfalls

Hello all! It's been a while, but we're glad the water levels are back up. We started back into offtrail hiking with something simple; Camp Benson Falls and Summit Creek Falls. We've never been there, and thought it would be a good place to start this year. We parked at the pullout about 2 miles Eas...

Re: Oneonta Falls access?

I made it down to Oneonta Falls from #424 after the slide back in May (I think). It was really slick but not impossible. Unless it's gotten worse since then, it should still be doable with caution.

Re: Latourell Falls Loop

Great photos! Both of the falls on that creek are two of the best falls in the gorge, in my opinion. They are absolutely magnificent!

Watcherman Falls Attemp #3...Success!

Alright, so this is our third go at Watcherman Falls. We took two shortcuts that we found the last two times we went and it cut a half hour out of our trip 8-) . We followed the old SR for about 1/3 mile and arrived back at Lower Watcherman Falls. With no fog this time, following the road was surpri...

Re: new guy to the pnw

Welcome to the forum! Hamilton Mountain is also one of my favorite hikes, it's a real good one. I would suggest the Horsetail Falls loop, it's also a very good hike. You get multiple waterfalls, including a walk behind, as well as a suspension bridge over one of them. There's also a triple falls (ca...

Re: Back at it after a 10 year hyatis...whoa

Welcome! Another mountain in the Gorge that's supposed to be a good "prep" for Mt. Hood is Defiance. I myself haven't been up there, but it's supposed to be a good one. It's about 11 miles round trip if you go the long way both ways.
