Re: Riley Ck to Crystal Lake

That looks like a beautiful hike. Thanks for the report! I'd never heard of thermacell before so I had to look them up. Do they seem to work well? Any idea what the repellent is?

Re: Badger Butte July 24

Good idea! I've never been up there either despite spending a lot of time in that area. Picture #9 looking down the creek drainage with the mountain in the background is awesome. Do you know which drainage that is?

Re: Yamsay Mountain & Hager Mountain 6-22-22

* The Fremont National Recreation Trail, 135 miles long, has its eastern terminus at the top of Yamsay Mountain. The crew said they wanted to establish the terminus at the trailhead where I parked, and they promised that they would soon be signing (and hopefully brushing out) the road and getting i...

Re: Bonanaza Trail

Thanks for the report. I did this as a hike and bike a few years ago starting at wildwood and riding back from bonanza trailhead. That creek section is really nice and views when you get up to the plaza are great! I still get a creepy feeling when I walk by the mine. I'm 100% certain a cave bear is ...

This off-trail segment should increase the hike patterns in this area, especially shortening some lollipop loops starting at various trailheads.
Please post if you end up climbing that ridge. Curious how it is.

Re: Access to Bull of the Woods Wilderness?

All of 46 is closed past ripplebrook store now. It was briefly opened but closed due to the BOTW fire last year. *Edit* The FAQ on the forest service says it's all closed but I read the text of the new closure order: "Ripplebrook Area Roads: o FSR 46 is closed from Hwy 224 to approximately 1 mile s...

Wow! Sahalie Falls was certainly raging! I usually avoid popular areas but might have to give this a go with so much else still closed. Thanks for the report

That was really entertaining. Thanks :)

Glad you weren't seriously hurt from your fall. Always kind of sketchy in those heavily burned areas.
