Re: Interactive trail maintenance map for Wallowas

This is super cool. Thanks for sharing! Keeping this map up to date must be labor intensive, but man it would be cool if this was a more widespread effort (which I say while having no intension of putting in that effort myself  )

Re: west of Mt Jefferson 8/28/2023

My wife and I were thinking about a taking a trip down by Jefferson the 28th and 29th but bailed (it's a long drive for a quick backpacking trip) due to smoke concerns. It looks like it wasn't too terrible for you, but I'm still happy that we bailed out and just took a day hike closer to home.

Re: Mt Rainier NP: around Windy Gap

Super cool report! For all the time I spend in MRNP this is a corner of the park I've not yet explored. Great to see your photos for a little extra motivation.

Re: McNeil and Barret Spur - July 12, 2023

I'll add my (non-essential) support to Chip's sentiment. Fuck those guys. To Jerry's point, many years back I was on a trail work crew that came across graffiti much like this. We weren't at all equipped to remove it, but did our best to cover it up with brush and anything else on hand that obscured...

Re: Nick Eaton Ridge-Gortan Creek Loop, 6/28/23

Glad to see this report. When I visited the gorge a few weeks back some trip reports on alltrails suggested this loop was very overgrown so I found an alternative hike instead. I'm glad to see from your report that it's perfectly navigable! Beautiful flower photos, too! Thanks for this detailed TR. ...

Mt Hood?

While it's still in season, I'm interested in giving Mt Hood a go. For a bit of background on my preparation, I've done the walk up Cascades: MSH several times (including in winter conditions), Mt Adams in a day, South Sister, and McLoughlin. Back in my east coast days I also did Katahdin via the kn...

Re: 2023-03-17 Dog Mountain - St. Pattrick's Day Snow Adventure

"sorry for my water bottle in the shot" that's all right, you're forgiven, it's supposed to be a beer bottle I believe Yeah, I thought chip was a reformed man for a second. Very fun report though! It looks like a lot of fun to do Dog in the snow. I really need to get down to the gorge again soon. A...
