Re: Glacier Peak Circumnavigation, Sept 9-15, 2022

This is an exceptional report. The detail is so valuable. I hadn't really considered a loop around Glacier but you've made a good case for moving ahead of the wonderland trail on a to-do list. Being in Seattle, it's at least a little bit less remote for me too. From the pictures it looks like this r...

Re: Best (non-iPhone) phone for photos

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone! This is helpful. Adam, I'm a bit surprised that my photos have been so iffy. I've used galaxy models in the past and found the cameras to be essentially state of the art (at least for the price point). But my current one struggles with colors in particular. ...

Best (non-iPhone) phone for photos

Hey all - my current Galaxy s8 needs to be replaced. As a phone it has always worked well, but the camera is mediocre. This is of course a problem since my phone camera is the main way I take pictures while hiking. Have folks here had better luck with other phones? I know iPhones are purported to ha...

Thanks for posting this. Very cool report. It's interesting to see the post-fire state of the area. It doesn't look too bad, honestly, which is heartening.

Re: South Wallowas Loop: 8/24/22-8/25/22

So cool! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these reports. It seems commensurate with the effort and planning that goes into many of your trips. All of the info about routes, trail conditions, camp site availability, etc., is incredibly valuable. And of course the beautiful photos ar...

This is very timely. My wife and I are eyeing up a goat rocks weekend trip and have been looking for info on snow levels. Thanks for writing up this report.

I'm actually not sure I have it right with Pikas  Super cool to spot a few of them. Somehow I've seen only a single solitary one, way up in North Cascades NP. I'm a fan though. Adorable little things

Re: Lookout Mountain and Flag Point from Gumjuwac/Hwy 35

Very cool report. Nice to see that clear shot of Mt Hood. I'm a bit envious you saw Pikas (or is this a thing where the plural is just pica?) Nice stats for a day hike too! Until about 3 weeks ago I'd never camped out anywhere. That meant some long day hikes like this one. Kind of glad to have campi...

This is awesome. Not a death march; quite the opposite in fact! I love these reports from the Hells Canyon area. Really need to check the area out (and the Wallowas too)

Re: North Oxbow Hike

Welcome to the board and thanks for posting! This sounds like it was a rough outing. I wasn't familiar with this hike, but all the same appreciate the heads up about current conditions (and you got me to check out the field guide entry). Waiting until late summer sounds like a solid plan :D
