Re: Across the Alpine Lakes, Again: Snoqualmie Pass to Icicle Creek
Thanks so much, everyone! I really appreciate good to see alternatives to the over crowded Enchantments Icicle Ridge - especially the eastern parts - is absolutely fantastic, and, relative to the Enchantments (or even to Robin Lakes or the Mt. Daniel area) basically deserted. Related, and perhaps of...

Across the Alpine Lakes, Again: Snoqualmie Pass to Icicle Creek
LowerDoelle.jpg Opening picture: Lower Doelle Lake, Alpine Lakes Wilderness August 14-21, 2021 Well, it’s somehow been six months since I posted a trip report for the first half of my Alpine Lakes Wilderness Megaloop, from Icicle Creek to Snoqualmie Pass. Here, finally, is the second, back from Sno...

Re: Across the Alpine Lakes: Icicle Creek to Snoqualmie Pass
Thanks so much for reading everyone! I really appreciate it, especially as I haven't had as much time as I'd like to hang out here for the last while. Hopefully you go back past the Tank Lakes etc! I'd planned to, but I was weirdly tired the day I went through there, and ended up just doing the shor...

Across the Alpine Lakes: Icicle Creek to Snoqualmie Pass
DanielFromRobin.jpg Opening picture: Mt. Daniel from the outlet of Lower Robin Lake August 7-13, 2021 In early 2020, I planned a grand loop through the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, starting and ending at Icicle Creek outside of Leavenworth with a resupply and hotel stay at Snoqualmie Pass. But then 202...

Re: Inactive members: where are they now?
I think there was some political stuff - issues with moderation, the bizarre change from "PortlandHikers" to "OregonHikers," etc - that drove some folks away, though, for my part, that all seems kinda silly in retrospect. I wish I had more time to still post reports. I'm still hiking as much as ever...

Krista had been on furlough since March and had to be near internet at least once a week to submit her unemployment claims, and anyway money was too tight to go an...

Re: 100 Miles in the Wallowas: Aug. 14-19, 2020
Thanks so much Brad! I always really look forward to your TRs too. This is the second time you mentioned the route direct from Glacier Pass to Eagle Cap. Meant to do that this year, but next year for sure for me. It's such a fun area! I've actually gone up three ways: one from Glacier Pass staying o...
