Yes. The road is actually pretty good gravel now.johnspeth wrote: ↑September 13th, 2022, 12:01 pmThis time limited access interests me. I've never been to the Yakama side of Mt Adams. I'm referring to the Bird Creek Meadows Loop Hike.
Could a 2017 Honda Civic make it to the Bird Lake trailhead?

Iceberg Lake Mt Adams 9/08/2022
This year, the east side of Mt Adams will only be open until Sept. 25th on the Yakama Indian Reservation. This was a hike from Bird Creek Meadows up to Iceberg Lake. The name doesn't appear on every map and "Iceberg" may not be an official name. It lies at the base of today's Mazama Glacier. A look ...

Re: Franklin Ridge Loop Hike 2/13/22
Looks fun! I’m surprised how much snow. I went to Devils Rest (2,400ft) Saturday, and there was no snow. High on Franklin is 2,800ft. Next, you need to try the same loop from Larch Mtn, once the gate opens in the Spring.

At bottom of this picture - biggest snow patch on East Zigzag Mtn (5000ft), Sat, 11/13.
Burnt Lake trail was a river in places. Water flowing everywhere.

Re: Diamond Peak via Rockpile trail head, Marie Lake
I did exactly what you describe on 9/09/2018. Your GPS coordinates are correct. The climb trail leaves the PCT just after a sharp turn. Easy to find, looks like this - IMG_0057.JPG My track is blue on this map. Enough people go up here that you'll find various climb paths. Easier to follow the main ...

Cast Creek Trail 773
As much as I appreciate the DIY trail maintenance, I hope it is done safely. This "fail" made me wonder. IMG_1610.jpg IMG_1611.jpg Unfinished work. Never mind this was only 1/10 mile past the wilderness registration box. In other news, the Cast Creek trail has a normal amount of blowdown (normal for...

Re: Big Huckleberry via Cedar Creek Trail # 149, 062021
Yes, Chip found the Alway trail that leads to Cold Spring. It is pretty obvious. GPS coordinate3s 45.8332, -121.7799. There are a series of cute hand made signs along the Alway trail. At Cold Spring Camp, there's a sign which commemorates George Alway (1906-1993). My hike, including out and back to ...
