I was planning on a section hike from OR/CA border to Crater Lake in early September. Assuming fire danger does not make this plan unworkable, the downed trees are going to make 20 mile days even harder...

Carrying around a chainsaw in an easy access sling on the trail might get you a considerable amount of side-eye and a very wide berth when passing people....

Green Canyon to the Hunchback junction has been a mess for years. It's even worse from that junction if you are trying to do the Salmon River loop. The amount of treefall and the length of time that it's been there is amazing, in a bad way.

Any thoughts on an Eagle Creek loop via 440 -> 434 (Eagle-Benson) -> PCT -> 405B -> 405 (Ruckel Creek) -> 400?
