Re: Ripley's "Portland Hikers Museum" - Believe it or Not!

I can't believe I'm the only one with a bigfoot print picture. Back in 2008 while hiking around Duffy Lake in June, we got lost on the way back down. The trail was hidden by snow. Luckily, we had a map and compass and determined we were about a mile off the trail so we had to bushwack our way back t...

How did that hammock work out for you in the cold temp? It seems like a genius idea getting your body off the cold ground. Adding this to my official list of hike I want to do. Thanks for the TR. Awesome pictures too!

Yes, we went up the ridge and down the creek trail. It would be pretty hairy to do it the other way around.

Ruckel Ridge Loop 3/31/13

When you read the description of this hike, please, please heed their warning that it is difficult. It is, no joke, 3,800 elevation gain in 4.5 miles. There are very few flat parts on the trail. It is pretty much straight up, then straight down. If you are not in shape for this hike, then I suggest ...

Thanks Brian. My girlfriend took the pick when we want on the Salmonberry River hike. Here's a trip report (not by me, but I posted some other pics in the comments).

It was melting quickly, tho I expect they may be getting a dusting again before it's all said and done.
