Wildwood Thru Hike

Hey all, I'm thinking about trying to do a Wildwood thru hike this weekend. I've heard different numbers for the length, mostly being either 30.* or 26.* miles. The sign in Forest park and this website say 26: http://www.americantrails.org/NRTDatabase/trailDetail.php?recordID=685 I've heard 30.3 or ...

Re: Mark O. Hatfield Memorial Trail Project

Any update on this project? I tried to look at the maps, but all of the links are dead. Seems like a neat idea, but from what I can tell, Bull Run is mostly holding it up? I've been looking for a good 3-4 day backpack in the area, and this seems like a pretty awesome one, though it does sound like s...

Re: need a tough hike for weekend (Sat Mar 9th) maybe Defian

The snotels around MSH are showing incredible snow depths down to 3,500 ft if it warms up with the spring sun you would be in post hole hell unless you skin with skis or snow shoes either way a long hard day. May be Table MT south facing not as high and real grunt if you leave from Bonneville dam.O...

Re: Hamilton Mountain conditions?

Thanks. We went ahead with the hike and it was as stated. A bit of snow at the top, but all in all a great hike.

Thanks!

Hamilton Mountain conditions?

Hey all, Thinking about trying to do the Hamilton Mountain loop tomorrow. Does anyone know if the conditions are good enough to do it? I feel like it's been warm and dry enough that the Gorge should be pretty safe at this point. http://www.portlandhikersfieldguide.org/wiki/Hamilton_Mountain_Loop_Hik...

Updated Marquam Trial Map

The link to the trail map on http://www.portlandhikersfieldguide.org ... Crest_Hike is now a 404. The proper link now seems to be: http://www.fmnp.org/images/MNPtrailmapforwebsite.pdf

Re: Pacific Crest Trail Thru Hike 2013

Wow! Thanks for all the posts. I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought Yogi's guide. I'd be planning to do it, but especially with folks talking about how it's a big mental game, I need to remove the doubt that I'll be doing it, and go full steam ahead :) I've been reading trip reports, and I'll ...
