Eagle Creek - Herman Creek Loop: 1/3/21

Hiked, biked, ran and snowshoed a 34 mile loop around Eagle Creek and Herman Creek on Sunday. It was nice to see Eagle Creek again, and even though I'll always like Herman better, it's easy to see why its so beloved: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50805692951_d97e8adca0_k.jpg B1933A2B-A0BE-4348...

Re: Will the Nesmith point trail ever reopen?

It’ll be a shame if the Moffett Creek-Tanner Creek-Tanner cutoff segments are never reestablished. Those trails really link things together and it would be sad to lose them for good. Someone cut out over 100 logs on the 1 mile or so of the Tanner Creek Trail years ago. It and Moffett were in horribl...

Re: Deschutes - Bighorn Sheep

Great sighting drm! The ewes(females) have much smaller/straighter horns than the rams. Bighorn don't shed their horns either, so it was probably a group of females.

Nice report DN! Those rime covered towers are something else! I've only been up Cook once but I remember the old road feeling very trail like as well.

Re: Langille Ridge and McCoy Peak, July 12th, 2018

Great report and pics DN! I scrambled up to Langille's summit last summer while looping the ridge, rough trail and the 29 road. On the ascent I slipped around the east side via a steep, loose gully. On the trip down I just stayed on the west side(also loose). Here are some pics, Curling around the e...

Re: Tales of Trouble and Trash in the Oregon Woods

Thanks for all of the thoughtful responses everyone. I feel like there are a few common sentiments and ideas most people share about this issue. Some are very general and some more specific, just to randomly list a few *produce/use less in general *properly dispose of what we do use *free dump fees ...
