Re: Missing hiker believed to be victim of cougar attack
I cant count how many times I've gone on a run up Mountain drive to ZZ Mtn Trail and turned around because "something" was watching me. Could have been a cougar or "Jet Black" a wanted criminal known for a rash of break ins around Welches, his encampment was found and destroyed near the ZZ Mtn trai...

Hey nice report! I've never been over that way, I think I'll check it out. How far from the PCT junction to the River Canyon view?

Re: Table Mountain - Cedar Mountain Figure Eight: 1/21
Beautiful trip report and photos! I was up on Table last Saturday with my friend Joe and it was like summer time up there, it was so pleasant. Crazy what a difference a few degrees makes.

Re: Ind. Mtn(ridge)/Scout Lake and Eagle Crk bear sighting:
Wow that is crazy that you saw a bear right on the trail! I would think that it would be too busy of an area for a bear to want to get near, but I was out there yesterday and there was a flyer up about what to do if you see a bear so it must be common. I heard about a bear sighting a couple of weeks...

Agree, thank you for doing this trip so that I am not tempted!
Unrelated to hiking, this reminds me of a song refrain that goes "When you wake up sleeping in your car in Estacada....."

Re: Eagle - Tanner loop de loop June 25, 2012
Hey everyone, I want to say thanks so much for all the hard work on the loop. I did the whole thing today, starting at Eagle Creek to Tanner, down mean old 777 and back along that bike trail to Eagle Creek again, and I did not get lost once. The trail is in great shape. I loved the steps hacked into...

Re: mt st. helens summit 2/5
Beautiful pics! Love it. I love the St. Helen's area and want to explore it more. Last summer I hiked up to Tanner Butte in the Gorge and met two guys in their 70's who had hiked up at the same time as me. They were Mazamas and were really nice. We had lunch together and one of them said his neighbo...

Re: Search for the missing donut..
+1 on the thanks for what you do, Lurch! I too try to never need your services.
I wouldn't mind reading the boring details. I drove past Multnomah Falls at about 10:40 Saturday morning and saw several Sheriff's vehicles and went UH OH. I'm glad to find out that it probably was training related.

Re: Lower Macleay to Pittock Mansion
Hey Joe, Nice little hike it the dark! You probably gave yourself all that extra time because you're accustomed to doing that. Glad you feel so much better now. I think your previous subconscious reasons for feeling tired were probably Very Valid. It's great to recover from something and get back al...
