I passed on your concern to the USFS manager at the Multnomah Falls Visitor Center.
Hopefully some takes a look this morning.

Re: Mt Hood area trail conditions (Clackamas County)
Thanks DayHiker! We had a big windstorm on January 12th, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what brought those down.

Re: Eagle Creek 1-1-2021
My wife and I were up there Monday (12/28), just as they were removing the fencing! I agree, most people will be pleasantly surprised. (My photos are from 7/19/2018) We were on an early work crew up there in July 2018 and at that time the very large fir spanned the creek (as seen in my photo) and we...

Re: Mabee Mines
My mother’s maiden name was “Mabee”, but that doesn’t help you find the mines
Those deputies sometimes are just curious or responding to a citizen who was concerned.
The number looks like it could have been their generic number which is: (509) 427-9490
Just a possibility...

Re: Green Cyn/Devils/Kinzell/SRT loop, 10/31/20
Ran into the SAR Deputy you saw. He said it was two males, lost the trail in the significant blowdown. He was able to monitor their movements via cell phone and “coached” them back onto the trail and safely back to the road.
Not much of a story.

Hey Rob,
CSAR volunteers didn’t get a call yesterday so the incident most have resolved easily, which is fairly common. Did you get the Deputies name; Meyers or Teague or ?

Re: Masive blowdown & quick trail work. - McNeil
We thought about the Dollar Lake fire too, but carefully compared old and new satellite photos and that fire didn’t get that far south. There might have been disease in that area, but the satellite photos from the weeks before the fire show a natural green color that blends in evenly with the surrou...

Re: Mt Hood area trail conditions (Clackamas County)
These are the conditions AFTER the massive windstorm and tree blow downs on September 8th. The map isn’t showing general trail conditions, rather the extent of major damage and fallen trees blocking the trail.

Search & Rescue - Applications are open in Clackamas County
Hi Folks, Many of you have probably followed the story of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office starting their own SAR team, CSAR (Clackamas Search and Rescue). We've spent the last 6 months forming the nucleus of a team with OSSA (Oregon State Sheriff's Association) certified people from other team...
