That was a deft sleight of hand, Adam. Many thanks!
By the way, over the past few months I've added links to your wildflower site where the FG is in concordance.

Re: Sourcing Spruce Tips on Public Land
Sitka spruce flourishes within 10 - 15 miles of the coast and there's plenty of it. Anyway, all forested areas close to the coast and right on it will have Sitka spruce, e.g. Fort Stevens, Tillamook Head, Neahkahnie Mountain, etc. [but those are state lands]. Here's an article that says the best tim...

The mounds are on a big bulldozed landing now completely covered with blackberries. I suspect some kind of development was planned here years ago. They're probably just piles of dirt or gravel.

Columbia Slough Trail at Big Four Corners 3-21-23
Took an delightful stroll along parts of the Columbia Slough Trail in far northeast Portland (Big Four Corners Natural Area). Imprecation on bridge pier intended to set all us wayward hikers on the straight and narrow, save for spelling savvy: King David's Covanate, Airport Way, Big Four Corners.jpe...

Re: Washougal River and Gordy Jolma 3-16-23
Yes, looks like I landed at your spot on my first foray off the road. The property outline on Google Maps is slightly misleading. According to the tax lot map, the road leads to a triangle of property with river frontage, so you can't actually get to the Clark-Skamania county line without trespassin...

Washougal River and Gordy Jolma 3-16-23
I clobbered my bad knee and needed something less grueling to get it back in fettle. Jbar290 had called my attention to the Washougal River “State Park” , so I decided to visit. Balcony Drive, off Vernon Road, is labeled a private road, but clearly a few people do visit, and there’s a paved pullout ...

Excellent report. It's really thawing out there. I wouldn't have expected to get so far up without some difficulty.

Re: McKenzie River Trail Info?
Keep checking snow levels. You should be able to hike the river trail between the ranger station and Belknap Springs. However, upstream there will be more snow although you may able able to do short in and outs to the waterfalls.

Re: Trail up Altamont
Are you referring to the Veterans Creek hike: https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guid ... Scott_Hike ?
We revised this over a year ago to reflect those changes and no longer include Altamont.
