Thanks for the debut trip report! It's great to see clear blue skies well into August. Sort of missed that these past few years.

Nice little overnighter - glad you found some solitude. When we were there a few years ago, some campers were feeding the resident giant salamander with bits of crawdad.

That RV is rather creepy. Will have to be dragged out at taxpayer expense, I suppose.

I've done Curly Creek Falls to Crab Creek Trailhead as a day hike and bike (stashed the bike at Crab Creek). Lovely. Thanks for the report. I would have been there same time as you, but I have my lower left leg stitched up and have to wait a while before getting out on the trail again.

Paid, experienced, seasonal trail crews come into the CRGNSA, Gifford Pinchot, Mt. Hood, and all other national forests in about April and work into September/October.
