Re: Barrett Spur Scramble, 8/2/2020

But you have to admit that "dragon's back" is a lot more evocative.
Totally! First time I’ve heard it, but I love it!

Re: Barrett Spur Scramble, 8/2/2020

Isn’t Gladd Ridge the one to the south of him that he took pics of? He went up the one on the other side on the north which I’m unfamiliar with its name. (Ladd Ridge? Laddcoe Ridge? Haha) I’ve done the Gladd both ways and crossed to Barrett which is cool. Your Dragon’s Back is also called Co Rock du...

Re: sleeping pads

The Neo Air X-Lite has kind of been the UL gold standard for many years. I had a 3/4 length one that weighed 8oz. After several years of not-great sleeping (it’s slippery and not that comfortable for me) I switched to the REI Flash (the less warm one of the two styles...the red one). It’s slightly h...

Yep indeed. Although the spot I love in there is the big ass spaceship rock “football field” with the creek running through it.

N-C hanging glacier area? Bummer about the job, sorry to hear that. Jerry that’s a good spot at Ho but up above Co is pretty cool too!

Re: Trail around three sisters questions

I went around the Sisters and summited south as we went. We started at Lava Lake Camp and then went up that connector trail you mention and camped at Camp Lake. We also did a bonus hike up to the pass to the Chambers Lakes area. Then we went off-trail from Camp Lake diagonally back to the main trail...

Re: Camping on Yocum Ridge?

Yeah there are a few camps up there. And a couple that are reasonably sheltered. It’s a beautiful spot. You can get water dropping down to the saddle just a bit down and then drop the short distance down to the Sandy Glacier side and there are some small, clear creeks in there that are certainly run...

Re: Timberline Trail Loop in a day - July 17, 2020

Nice work. I did that same route with similar plan/time a few years back. That climb from the Sandy is a long on at the end of the day! I’m surprised the snow was low enough for this, this early in the summer as I thought you might get slowed down due to some tricky snow patch crossings still. Nice ...
