Re: Cloud Cap CG to Lamberson Butte
Indeed, I was referring to the pylons used on the ski lift, which in itself would make an interesting ride across the Elliot...parachutes included. While at it, I would like a nice little cable bridge across the Coe drainage. However, you don't want to remove all of the danger....otherwise just stay...

Re: Cloud Cap CG to Lamberson Butte
ELLIOT CROSSING SOLUTION One solution is a manually operated cable car stretched between pylons (like I see over there near Meadows ski area). It would have a car with sides so that you could not fall out and be operated by the people in the basket. The number of "passengers" would be limited thoug...

Forest Road 6507 to Thomas Lake TH.....OPEN???
I found this on the Forest Service site; "5/18/2022: FR 65 is open to the junction with FR 67 about three miles north of Four Corners. The road is very brushed in with poor sight distance. Road surface has potholes and is slippery due to wet needles and debris. Panther Creek Falls is accessible. NOT...

Re: ACCESS TO THOMAS LAKE TRAILHEAD???
I've been stuck in a rut for decades using Road 65 to access Thomas Lake TH. No more. It's about 19 miles up the Wind River Road to Road 6507 and then 4.6 miles to Road 65 then a left turn a short distance to the trail head parking. Is this what you refer to as the "detour"?? Any problems with Road ...

ACCESS TO THOMAS LAKE TRAILHEAD???
May 4, 2022 How is the access to the Thomas Lake Trailhead in Indian Heaven Wilderness these days?? I'm concerned about a washout on Road 65 somewhere near the Falls Creek Horse Camp/Falls Creek area. Low Rider Jetta!!! NF Road 6507, off of Wind River Rd/Meadow Creek Road is an alternative. It's onl...

Re: Indian Heaven Road Info Request
Thanks, Adam. I have mapped that route on my Delorme GPS. It's about 30 miles up Wind River Rd., which changes name to Meadow Creek Road, to 6507 and then 5 miles to the Road 65 near the Thomas Lake Trail Head. I'll give that a try. I can get to the washout from there and get the GPS coordinates tha...

Indian Heaven Road Info Request
The last time I drove to Indian Heaven Thomas Lake Trail Head I came across a severe washout on Road 65 about 1 1/2 miles from the trail head. Is that washout still there? Can I get a better estimate how far it is from the trail head? GPS coordinates would be great. Thanks. I felt lucky that my low ...

CAN ONE RESET THE DATE ON DELORME PN-60???
I've been using my Delorme PN-60 for many years. I have 4 of them and do not want to invest in any others. Garmin doesn't want to help Delorme users and actually wiped out the great Delorme user forums when they bought Delorme. My PN-60s seem to have reset the internal date to March 9, 1999. Can thi...
