CAN ONE RESET THE DATE ON DELORME PN-60???

I've been using my Delorme PN-60 for many years. I have 4 of them and do not want to invest in any others. Garmin doesn't want to help Delorme users and actually wiped out the great Delorme user forums when they bought Delorme. My PN-60s seem to have reset the internal date to March 9, 1999. Can thi...

Hidden Lake Trail

Sunday Jan 14.....nice day for an hike up the Hidden Lake Trail. The trail head is located on an old section of Highway 26, just past the Paradise Park TH and the Kiwanis Camp. There is some snow on the trail here and there to the lake. The lake is frozen over. As the snow increases, it's not much o...

Re: Timberline Trail: Eliot crossing, 2017 update (new trail

They need a bridge. I think they had planned to do that at one time or another. Oh, non-sense you say !!!!!! How about this: Why not just a couple of those cable lift pylons from the ski areas and a long cable stretching across the Elliott !!! Or just use the trees for a cheaper way to go. A small h...

Re: Top Spur / Bald Mt. - Snow Update

Thanks for the report. The rangers still think that one cannot even get near the parking area. They could use a trail report. I doubt if they read this blog. Is the parking lot completely melted out??? Are there any significant washouts on the gravel road??? Can a car with lower ground clearance pas...

Re: Snowshoes needed!

Go to the trail junction before the lake, veer right (west), get the lake in sight and bare clockwise, to the south and west, climbing as you go. The trees open up to a "bench" with views of Mt. Hood and Skibowl slopes. Go a little west and up the slope. Look at a good map and you will see a ridge g...

Re: Delorme Support Websites Pulled by Garmin??

Garmin has a business model that's doomed. Couldn't happen to a nicer company. The corporate creeps !!! There was a huge knowledge base in the Delorme community forums. Garmin destroyed all of that. You know they could have phased it out over a longer period giving due warning to Delorme users. And...

Delorme Support Websites Pulled by Garmin??

I haven't look at the support websites for some time. I use a Delorme PN-60. I have been aware that Garmin had purchased Delorme. So they have totally wiped out any support for the old Delorme units. Very cut-throat business practice IMO. I'm not surprised and in fact I chose Delorme because I thoug...
