Re: Polaris Pass or Carper Pass into Wallowas mid-September

Hi Ian, A friend and I are flipping a coin between the Olympics or a Wallowas trip in a September 10-16 window. If you posted here looking for someone to link up with for a Wallowas trip and somewhere in that week would work for you, let us know. If you're in super shape and looking to hike far and ...

I'm not sure my feet could handle the Red Lizardy pace you like to set, Ms Timberline-Trail-in-2-Days. :)

Re: Looking for Wallowas multi-day trip partner after Sept 6

Thanks Kelly! I'm sure it'll be beautiful weather unless I leave my rain jacket at home. Then it'll bucket. Or snow.

Looking for Wallowas multi-day trip partner after Sept 6

I'm planning a 4 or 5 day trip to the Wallowas sometime between Sept 6 and Sept 20. Weather at night is usually still warm, usually there's been a cold night already and the mosquitoes are mostly gone and post-Labor-Day trails are reasonably empty. I've done the East-Fork-Wallowa-River-Polaris Pass ...

Polaris Pass or Carper Pass into Wallowas mid-September

I'm hiking into the Wallowas mid-September (probably after Sept 17th when half an inch of rain is expected). Either take the tram up Mt Howard and then hike down to Aneroid Lake and then over Polaris Pass (incredible views!) and over to Glacier Lake/Lakes Basin... or West Fork of the Lostine River o...

Re: Wallowas: Eagle Cap

Hi Hiker, I'll probably be at Starbucks at 8 Sunday. I'll only run 8 miles, though. I'd like to hear about the vertical hail on your Timberline trip. We should talk about the Wallowas, too. The days are getting short (down to 10.5 hours by next weekend) but I'd be up for a trip, especially if we fou...

Re: Wallowas: Eagle Cap

I'm pretty flexible for anytime in the next 2 weeks. A college roommate of mine gave me a maybe tonight so I need to touch base w/him tomorrow, though. If you think you might be interested, maybe we should go for a run on Wildwood Friday pm or the NoPo RC Saturday 9:30 am or w/the Red Lizards Sun 8:...

Re: Mt. Hood - Vista Ridge to Hood River Meadows 10/11/2014

We didn't have smartphones so we asked people we met on the route for weather updates... and thus didn't get a clearer picture than that there would be precipitation on Friday night and Saturday... and since we were both pessimists, assumed the worst.

Re: Wallowas: Eagle Cap

Went and did the Timberline Trail w/Tyler (Back_Packer) last week. I'm still looking for company for a trip to the Wallowas and the weather is still looking mostly sunny w/daytime highs in the 50s... although the temps are looking like they'll drop close to or below freezing at night in the Lake Bas...
