Wolf creek train trestle hike

My wife and I are planning a thru hike from Cochran Pond (near Timber) to Wheeler (at the coast). I was wondering if anyone has ever done this hike along the old train tracks? We are thinking about leaving March 19. Any advice on this trip would be appreciated?

My parents are camp hosts there at the state park. Can't wait to get out there for some hiking.

Tilly Jane A Frame

My wife and 10yo and I are headed up to the A frame on 3/15/14. Just wondering if any one has been up there recently ? We all have snow shoes. But some where I read that the road was closed due to tree limbs. How many miles is the walk ? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Re: Bagby Hot Springs 2/3/13

My wife and I went up there on 2/9/13 after the romp to stomp snowshoe for breast cancer. I don't recommend going up there without 4wd and at least 8 to 10 inches of clearance. The ruts are pretty deep. That being said, it was a very nice day at the tubs. The ranger up there his name is Budd Carson,...

My wife and I also did the 40 mile loop. Starting at Wallowa lake on the 20th. And ending at Wallowa lake on the 25th. Awsome trip. I will try and put up pics soon.

camp shoes

Just curious on what kind of camp shoes people are sporting these days ? The reason I ask is I started out with fairly heavy Nike water sandels. I just picked up a pair of crocs. Light weight, water proof, and relatively cheap. ;)

Re: Wallowa River Loop via Polaris Pass (Aug. 3-7, 2012)

Very nice TR. My wife and I are doing the same loop, but clockwise next week. It's nice to see there's no snow on the trail. How HOT did it get during the day, And how cold at night ??? Might help with gear packing Thanks.
