Re: Monuments of Remembrance

Thanks guys,

I think I have seen the airplane one and Fred McNeil but can't place where on either.

Andee says there is one for her dad just past Timber Line Lodge on the Paradise Park trail but we have never saw it.

Hope to read about more....

I would agree with Gene.

As all outdoor activities have a risk level to them, and Craig's hikes have a elevated risk level due to lots of factors. He is one of the most prepared leaders I have ever seen.

Re: St Helens from Climbers Bivoauc -- Oct 4th 2014

Nice report, I did the same thing after climbing Mt Hood. Every time I saw it I would say " I was up there". You mentioned Broken Top, its a very fun climb. if you decide to climb more mountains give it a go. Its a bit more technical though and unless your a good scrambler a rope is useful for safet...

Monuments of Remembrance

I am wondering just how many Monuments or Plaques are there around Mt Hood?

I know of the ones on Split Rock, Cooper Spur and on the ridge up to Languille Crags.

there must be more.

Wowzers! what a report. As Craig knows we were at the caves later that day. It was amazing how much different Snow Dragon was from last year. The weather was supposed to get nicer. What happened, mountain weather I guess, Our trip had a few things happen that made our time out there an adventure. On...

Re: TKO looking for some specific "Lost Trails" photos!

I am not much on the computer but if you want some photos of a few of your mentioned hikes, I would contact Craig G. Another good place would be Northwest Wilderness and the Portland hiking meetup photo sections. People take a lot of pictures, I've seen over 200 posted on a single Munra Point South ...

Re: Nesmith Direct (GCC) - 5/31/14

Hey Guys, I believe Craig has the survey marker on the other side of the canyon in mind. If I remember right when we did the SE buttress hike there was another survey marker at the top like the one at the top of The Island and Beyond scramble. ( a favorite of mine foe some reason). Your trips are ge...

Re: Mt. Kiesano and a whatchamacallit, revisited - 5/3/14

were going to give a try for the Pillars today. Nice to meet you at the festival, Mr Bosterman! Hope to get back into the swing of things again soon. I believe we got almost there. There was a amphitheater with a shelf to traverse and then a rock wall to climb that looked climbable. Did not bring en...
