Re: Hiking from Shi Shi Beach to Rialto Beach
I'm planning on doing this trip the first week of August. Did you end up doing this trip? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My husband and I did this trip a few years ago (from Ozette to Shi Shi and back), and it is a marvelous piece of coastline. You absolutely have to plan according to the...

Re: Dogs, dogs, dogs
Oh, this whole thread makes me so angry and appalled. I have two dogs that I hike with, FREQUENTLY. I make it a policy to NEVER assume someone wants to say hi to my dogs, regardless of how much my (one, in particular) dog wants to say hi to them. There are so many people with allergies or just insec...

Re: Sheep Canyon-Butte Camp Dome Loop
Beautiful! My husband and I did that loop last fall (sort of an accident....he was fussy with me, lol) and we both really loved that high section of the Loowit trail nearing Butte Dome. So lovely in the fall. Looks like a great day.

I did that same hike in March- no snow to speak of. Great hike, lots of solitude, and I imagine beautiful flowers in season.
THAT ROAD THOUGH. I hated that whole stretch, even in my Subaru.

Cooper Spur shelter 1-8-2015
I haven't posted trip reports for a while, so I thought I would remedy that. Headed out with the aim of reaching the Cooper Spur shelter last week- needed a "me" day, and sometimes nothing accomplishes that like a good slog. Parkdale was as socked in with fog as I have ever seen it- visibility was m...
