Re: Triple Falls on a snowy day

Congrats on 110 for the year Don. Nice way to close it out to boot. Certainly looks different back in there.

Epic Bobcat......as were the trail reports after you completed the visits. Informative, educational and interesting.

Re: Eastern Gorge Area Alive & Well

Damn... with the river that low at Cottonwood Canyon, you could make a loop with a ford! Probably true, Adam, although during the season when the river is this low, you might run into some issues on the north side of the river where the closures for Eagle nesting is in effect. I did see a lot of sa...

Re: Eastern Gorge Area Alive & Well

Jerry, I thought this WAS your life - great hikes and great posts. Now I have to start rethinking things. Know what you mean about the weather though. Over here we get all excited about a chance to hike in some rain.

Eastern Gorge Area Alive & Well

Been awhile since my last post but excuses are plentiful. Mostly I had a foot injury, so I’ll go with that one. Not so much an injury but an ulcer. If you’ve never heard of such, or had one, be thankful, and I highly recommend avoiding the whole issue. Of course, my age played a fair role in how lon...

Re: Angora Peak 3-3-21

Good to know your area weather experts are as lame as ours out east. Good you went anyway 'cause your reports are always informative beyond the sights and sounds. I keep wondering "how does he find these places?" Also thinking "sure glad he does."

If I was walking by you I'd wear a mask :)

WHAT??? If I encountered you on a trai, Jerry, I'm pretty sure I'd want to stop and say hello and such silliness - masked up of course. Hard to just walk past an OH legend. But, no hugging.

Re: Rooster Rock Wagon Trail

I'm dumbfounded as to why only seeing two other hikers socially distanced wearing masks needs inclusion in your report. Do you seriously think you can get C-19 briefly passing fellow hikers in the middle of nowhere? Mask inclusion is never a bad thing in these reports - most of my recent hikes have...

Thanks Pika. Agree about the nature of the old friends. So much to enjoy about the high desert and the canyons. Hope the PDX crowd is awed.

Re: Petroglyph Lake, Hart Mtn 10/22/20

Petroglyph Lake is a place I've long hankered to visit. Thanks for posting your great trip report. 14 October 2023 marks the date of an annular eclipse of the sun. Petroglyph Lake will be close to the centerline of the Path of Totality. While the eclipse path centerline will traverse western Oregon...
