Re: Deschutes River - Macks Canyon
I have also heard that the Deschutes River Water is not safe to drink as it's contaminated w/ chemicals from agricultural runoff from the plateaus above, and filtering will not remove the chemicals. YMMV

Re: a new "Bear Grass Trail", because we needed one more
This new "bear grass trail" was built by Evergreen Mountain Bike Association. Most of the trails in the area are maintained by them as well. I ride up there frequently.

Good ol Lake 7505. Visited it several times but it's been awhile, 2015. In fact, my avatar photo was taken there.

Hi all, I miss my old forum buddies! I know some of you in real life, and some of you I still follow on the rare occasion I peruse FB. Forums have been done in by quick fix social media, but I have faith that they will continue on and become popular again. I have been doing more cycling than hiking ...

Re: Road to Grassy Knoll gated (from Carson)

Re: Cazadero Trail - Boring, OR
RJ,
springwater goes to Boring. Cazadero trail goes from Boring to just shy of Barton b/c of non-existant Deep Creek crossing. So once this crossing is bridged, you will be able to go from portland most of the way to Estacada w/o being on a motorized trail.
