Re: Duncan Creek 12-13-18

One of my Favorite places I've been going in there for 18 Years. Some info. You can find a lot of info on Nellie Corser on line. Her Family lived in the Stone house on14. I've been parking on east side of bridge with no problems. Bus does not come up there anymore. Maybe no kids to pick up. For years...

Re: Table Mountain - alternate route?

If logging company don't have their gate locked you can drive to the PCT near Three Corner rock. You can also drive up Keufler and end up in the same place. 2020 road will also get you to same area.

Re: Hardy Ridge past Phlox, then roads to radio towers

Dick Thomas, Roy Stout, Russ Jolley and other Mazama leaders used to lead a hike from Duncan Creek to a VP very close to Towers. Trees grew up an obscured views so hike was abandoned. I went on one hike and the views were great.

Re: Augspurger Mt from Cook via Can Lid Lane

Another way would b to take Berge for 3 miles, right on logging road to N end of Aug which is an approved trailhead as far as I know. WTA does work on N aug trail so that makes it official enough. Whatever way you go to N, Aug I would wait a few weeks for a good day and the flowers are in bloom. Spe...

Re: WA Russ Jolley Loop

Falls in Don's pic I know as Cable and Gable. I have a Mazama hike schedule from 1936 when they hiked in there. I also have a centerfold from a Portland newspaper from 1950 which describe hiking in the area. One paper call it Cable and the other Gable. Cable Creek is just west of St Cloud Point. It ...

Re: Augspurger Mt from Cook via Can Lid Lane

Russ J phoned me to help him with the trail about 10 years ago. I was not able to help him at the time but later I was able to keep the trail open when few people knew about. I hiked and worked on trails with Dick T too, so whatever it's called it's ok with me, as I'm sure it would have been ok with...

Re: Looking for a Russ Jolley Trail

As far as I know I have hiked most of the RJ trails. The map I have is really beat up, but you can have a copy. Russ has 4 areas marked with Teepee symbols on the map which were his camping areas while out in the woods. Big Momma and Sunshine were two of the names I recall right now and I know approx...

Re: Looking for a Russ Jolley Trail

I might have found that saw on one of Russ's trail. His hat was on a rock in the same area for years and then dissapeared. Guy has a picture of it on one of his reports. I have been on most of Russ trails trying to keep them open. Some are probably lost .Too much lopping to keep them open. However t...

Re: Looking for a Russ Jolley Trail

Guys, especially Guy. I'm fairly sure he is looking for Lost Creek hike. Drive to Willard and go west for 6 miles. Guy will have a map and Don will too. Guys pictures will confirm the hiker that it is Lost Creek.
