Re: Lewis River Trail
Thanks for this report. The Lewis Creek is an area I've been appreciating more and more over the last couple of years.

Great pictures Gene.
I totally agree with what you said about that road. It is awful. I did that hike last summer and swore it was the last time I'd do that drive. However, I do like the sound of your gravel truck diversion plan!

Re: Remote car camping in the PNW?
Hey! There's a book that's just perfect for your wife. It's called Camp Free in the Mt Hood National Forest . It's a big book with sweet photos and maps. Part I is all about preparing to camp and how to make it enjoyable. Part II is all the sites. There are definitely places groups and RVs won't be....

Re: Beatles Revisited
I agree that taste is not a fit topic for debate, but I have to address this point from Q. All of this is stated with a heavy dosage of YMMV, of course! The way I view it, musical style is a matter of personal taste, but musical talent is not. Talent and skill are usually not subjective... But...

Resurrecting this thread. I've been making my way through the English translation of Karl Ove Knausgaard's My Struggle. It's totally addicting. Anyone else been sucked in?

Wow! Great photos. I don't think I've ever seen a shrubby penstemon before. Thanks for sharing this report.
