It isn't abnormally early for snow queen. (And the first flowers in the eastern Gorge usually start around New Year's Day.) I'm from the South and it's still amazing to me to be so far north and see flowers blooming in the middle of winter. Whether that's normal or not for those particular flowers,...

Take avalanche hazards seriously and bring a gps so you stay on track in the woods. . I haven't done this trip all in one go on snowshoes but I've skied much of it, and hiked all of it several times. There are two specific spots where you'll be in avalanche terrain and have some overhead hazard. 1....

I boil water and add that water to a cup with some amount of Winco Instant Coffee in it. Then I let it sit until I've forgotten it, and then I drink it room temperature. I'm a heathen, what can I say?

Actually, maybe it is a scammer who hacked Webfoot's account, since that post came from Panama City. But so have others, so maybe it's just a proxy. Unless Webfoot has always been a scammer... ;)

What a difference a few dozen miles makes. The avalanches (or drifts?) down on the roads are huge. What a mess!
